Nikita is an adventure drama TV show based on a movie about a trained assassin that has gone rogue and trying to stop a secret American agency known only as Division from recruiting deeply troubled teenagers and training them to be assassins.
The star of Nikita is played by Margaret Denise Quigley and was born to a Polish-Irish American father (originally based in New York) and a Vietnamese mother. Her father met her mother during the Vietnam War. Maggie has two older half-siblings from her mother’s previous marriage, and two older sisters. The family moved to Hawaii and settled in Mililani.
The TV show Nikita borrows many of the characters from the 1997 television series La Femme Nikita and has a large number of fans.
Maggie dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but modeled and found herself bursting onto the Hong Kong movie scene – eventually becoming a full-fledged superstar in Asia. She changed her name to the easily pronounceable “Maggie Q” (for the Chinese audience).
You might recognize Maggie Q from other movies like Mission Impossible III, Live Free or Die Hard, and other films.
